“Harvest in a Box”
This year, in addition to our established farm market on Westham Island, we are offering you a weekly “Harvest in a Box”, containing our mix of the best in-season fruit and vegetables. This offer is based on a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. Starting in Mid-June and ending last week of October, you will receive one box each week, a total of 20 boxes over the season. Each box has an average value of $25, bringing the total for the season to $500.
By paying at the start of the season, you are helping us to grow a variety of crops and maintain a close relationship with our community. You are always welcome to stop by our farm to see how we grow our food, get advice and learn from us about the importance of local farming in Metro Vancouver. Above all, we love eating our home grown produce just as much as you do and are always keen on sharing stories and recipes.
See below for more information on our CSA program and how to sign up.
What is in a share?
Throughout the season we grow a variety of produce. Part of the experience of belonging to a CSA is never knowing what your box will look like until you open it. Each week your box will be full of fresh, delicious and nutritious produce. You can expect the best of what is in season at that time. At the beginning of the season, there will be lots of greens. During the middle of the season you can expect a great assortment of veggies and fruits. By the end of the season, your box will be loaded with lots of storage produce that you can keep for many weeks to enjoy after the program has finished. Click here for a list of the produce expected to be included in your box when in season.
How big is a share?
A weekly share is generally enough for 2 adults, 2 children and the occasional dinner guest. You can always keep fresh food longer by freezing, canning or dehydrating it. Send us an email or come see us on the farm for advice on preserving food.

By participating in our CSA program, you are committing to support our 2013 growing season. Farming happens out on our fields and therefore is weather depending. Although we are studying the most reliable farmers’ almanacs to foresee the weather for this growing season, we can’t guarantee the same quantities for each week. An exceptional harvest of one or the other crop is just as unpredictable. In this lies one of the beauties of farming which we hope to share with you this season.
We cannot reimburse for missed weeks as we allocate our resources in advance. How about sharing your box with a family member or friend while you are away?
